Valentine’s Day is a couple of weeks away and I’m hoping you’re planning something special for that special someone in your life. But I think Valentine’s Day is also a great day to treat those who make your life a little sweeter as well. Here are some of my favorite gift ideas:
For Mom: How about tickets to the Alliance Theatre’s “The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” coming this spring? With music by John Mellencamp and book by Stephen King, this is sure to have all the intrigue of her favorite mystery novel.
For Dad: These really neat Whiskey Stones from Switch Modern. My step-dad is a scotch drinker and he loved these. Switch Modern is one of the coolest stores in West Midtown.
For your best girlfriend: If her BF gets her candy, you can counteract it with a gift certificate to dTox in Midtown. She can try the 3-day Juice Cleanse or “splurge” on some vegan coconut chocolate chip cookies.
For the little ones: Books make the best gifts ever. Here of some of my favorites: “The Day it Rained Hearts,” “Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse!” (from the author of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”) and “Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink” (good for the little boys in your life).
For your pup: Get your four-legged friend clean! A bath is the perfect gift and our friend Maria at Clean Dog in Inman Park is an expert pup-pamperer.
Hope you get something good for V-Day…like a big piece of jewelry! But remember, it’s better to give than receive!
