My friend Mike Jordan at Thrillist ran his five favorite date night spots in Atlanta this morning.  They are Cardamon Hill, CineBistro, Krog Bar, Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint and Tanta.  Although I haven’t been to all of these, I must agree that Krog Bar is one of my favorite spots to grab a drink – whether it’s with a date or with a girlfriend.  (more…)

1977

1977 was a big year for me.  Not to give away my age, but some pretty influential things happened in 1977.  For example, the “Roots” miniseries aired on TV.  I distinctly remember watching all eight nights of this show.  It helped shape my understanding of slavery and the fight for civil rights in our country.  (more…)
