FYRE FESTIVAL COMES TO ATLANTA

Happy Monday! We're excited to announce our newest client: Fyre Festival, a luxury music festival that will be sponsored by Pepsi and United Airlines.

Sure, the first one got off to a bit of a rocky start. But we're reinventing this sophomore effort right here in the ATL. We're all about new beginnings, so we're setting to work to re-brand what was an Instagram-fueled fiasco, founded by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule. Atlanta is all about the phoenix rising from the ashes, right? To that end, we're going to turn a "bless-their-hearts" island disaster into a land-locked feel-good fete. In case you missed the 10 zillion articles that have been written about it, Fyre Festival started in 2017 as an influencer campaign to build awareness and excitement for an uber luxe concert on the Bahamian island of Exuma. Super models Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski posted bikini-clad pics on social media and Fyre Festival went viral - fast. What could go wrong? Everything! Fyre Festival spiraled out of control when revelers arrived on the island to a lack of security, food, accommodation, medical services and artist relations (minor details!). Instead of luxury villas and gourmet meals, attendees basically paid thousands of dollars for prepackaged sandwiches and FEMA tents. A social media maelstrom, at least eight lawsuits (one seeking more than $100 million in damages), a six-year prison sentence for one of the founders and two fabulous documentaries later -- Fyre Festival remains one of the biggest social media backlashes in recent memory. Its existence was shaped solely by its social media feed and website. The real-life event was nowhere near what those super models sold to countless ticket holders. Which proves that you can't always believe what you see on Instagram. And you shouldn't believe everything you read on April Fools!
