And All That Jazz

While Atlanta boasts a rich history of pop, R&B, gospel, and hip-hop music, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is where greats like Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and even Sheila E. have graced the stage since its inception in 1978. Held every Memorial Day Weekend at Piedmont Park, you can always count on the Jazz Fest to draw great acts for fun-in-the-sun on arguably the last weekend before summer turns up the heat. One fun fact: after all these years, the city is engaging more local businesses for sponsorship. The event’s fearless leader, Camille Love, hired newly-launched music production company Concert Logic, led by our client and longtime tour manager for Ludacris, James “JP” Pulliam, to tap into his extensive industry network to draw new sponsors, like Georgia Natural Gas. What's hot this year? You can supersize your experience in the Vodka and Vegan Lounge, which gets you a covered seating area in front of the Oak Hill stage, food catered by Slutty Vegan on Saturday and Local Green Atlanta on Sunday, two complimentary Tito's Vodka drinks and performances from Kandace Springs, Richard Bona, Freelance and more. Another fun option is the Late Night Jazz Jam on Friday at Park Tavern, featuring Lil John Roberts and the Senators. Whatever your jam may be - this one's free and fun. Don't miss it!
