There are a ton of great art events going on right now, and you're not going to miss a single one!
You know we love art, and we particularly love the local art scene. Which is why we're so excited about these great events happening around town NOW.
We're raising funds for our dear friend Todd Murphy THIS Wednesday during “Friends of Todd Murphy Show The Love,” a silent art auction at Westside Cultural Arts Center (WCAC). There is a $20 suggested cash donation at the door and you can bid on dozens of works of art. Then on Wednesday, November 6, “For Todd” will include a silent and live auction of a select curation of works by Murphy’s close friends, at Mason Fine Art. Admission is $250. Both events will raise funds to help with medical and living expenses.
And it's all about Sally Mann this week as Jackson Fine Art shows her 2016 series Remembered Light, along with select southern landscapes spanning the artist’s remarkable career, in conjunction with her retrospective, A Thousand Crossings, at the High Museum.
And on the Hertz Stage of the Alliance Theatre now through October 26, you can catch our pal Andrew Benator starring in "Small Mouth Sounds," the story of six strangers who confront their inner demons at a silent wellness retreat in the woods.
On Tuesday, November 5, Maune Contemporary will host a talk with Michael Rooks, High Museum Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, about the work of artist Alex Katz
Finally, as you read in last week's newsletter, our pal Gregor Turk's RECLAIM/PROCLAIM BLANDTOWN, about the plight of his studio's turf in Blandtown, is up through November 22 at Gallery 72.
