Happy Giving Tuesday! There's something really lovely about the fact that it falls squarely between Thanksgiving -- the most indulgent eating holiday -- and Art Basel -- the most over-the-top art event. It's like the universe is saying stop, drop and roll away from doing you and toward doing the right thing.
With so many amazing charities to choose from, we're giving a few shout outs to some of the ones that are closest to our hearts.
This is the first of our December favorite things emails. Throughout the month we'll also be highlighting some our favorite gifts and experiences.
Today, we give you, our favorite charities:
Helping Mamas is Georgia's baby supply bank. Consider that 3 out of 5 parents struggle with diaper need. These fine folks have it covered.
Chastain Horse Park provides more than four thousand therapeutic riding sessions per year in the heart of Buckhead to children as young as two, teens and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities.
Atlanta Lab Rescue identifies and rescues Labrador Retrievers and large breed mixes from overwhelmed shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. And you know we're a dog friendly office!
This spring, Hillels of Georgia will honor our client Michael Coles as part of its mission to enrich the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.
Another exciting announcement this year was that the Green Light Fund launched here to transform the lives of low-income children, youth and families in the Atlanta area.
Our pal Ryan Gravel (mastermind of the Atlanta BeltLine) launched Generator, a nonprofit which invites community members for weekly happy hours and brainstorming sessions focused on Atlanta’s future as well as helping people generate, pursue, connect and deliver ideas that support the future of cities.
And if you're an avid reader of this newsletter, you know that our dear friend Todd Murphy is battling Stage 4 colon cancer. He's done so much for the community. Please consider donating to Fact Relief to support his family.
Whether you choose one of ours or donate to one of your favorites, join us in celebrating Giving Tuesday by donating what you can.
