Helping Mamas Crowns Deletha Bailey Colton "Mom of the Year"

(June 15, 2021) Helping Mamas has named Deletha Bailey Colten “Mom of the Year” for turning a personal tragedy into the gift of prom for girls at Newnan High School. As Georgia’s only baby supply bank, Helping Mamas aims to uplift and celebrate the incredible moms that do wonderful things for their communities.

“Deletha’s story inspired us” says Helping Mamas CEO and Founder, Jamie Lackey. “Her dedication to serving the community in honor of her children is making a huge impact on so many young girls.”

One year ago, Deletha lost her teenage daughter Denijiah and young son Scooby in a tragic car accident. Devastated that she would never see her daughter dressed for prom, she is keeping her memory alive through “Nijiah’s Love,” providing every Newnan High Schoo

l girl the chance to have the prom of her dreams through donated dresses, shoes and accessories for those less fortunate. In the aftermath of the tornado that recently ravaged Newnan, Deletha aims to help the girls who lost their dresses as well.
